There are many things to consider when purchasing and installing a new toilet. One big choice is between using a gravity toilet or a pressure-assist model.
Gravity toilets are probably the most common household toilet and are also generally cheaper than pressure-assisted toilets. Gravity toilets rely on pushing water downwards through a valve to wash waste through the pipes.
In contrast, pressure-assist toilets use a highly pressurized system to rapidly push out air and water into the bowl, washing away the waste. These systems are reportedly more resistant to clogging and may use slightly less water than traditional gravity toilets. However, they flush much more loudly than their gravity-assisted counterparts, and the pressurized tanks need to be replaced at least every ten years.
The choice whether to go with a gravity-assisted or pressure-assisted toilet is ultimately a matter of preference, but customers should consider factors like noise, maintenance costs, and water-usage when making the decision.
